UConn’s Class Of 2014 Is No. 1: All-Star Girls Report

Bret McCormick, who runs the superior All-Star Girls Report website, ranks UConn’s recruiting Class of 2014 as top in the nation – and that’s without A’ja Wilson, the No. 1 unsigned post, who said last week she will decide between UConn, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina come spring.

I thought you might like to read what he said about the class, in particular his assessment of Gabby Williams, the guard from Nevada.

McCormick on the Huskies: “Gabby Williams is one of the best players I’ve ever seen. She’s like Maya Moore in that she could play just about any position. She does it all on the court, and she has Olympic potential in the high jump. Sadie is a combo guard who is a great athlete. She’s tremendous off the bounce with a nice floater in the lane. She is a big time scorer, but she will involve her teammates. Courtney is a high IQ player. She is a great shooter with deep range, and she is a gym rat who has a unique understanding of the game. Courtney Ekmark will make her mark at Connecticut. Kia Nurse could play any of the guard spots. She has a smooth all-around game, and she plays hard.”
